With millions of contact lens users in North America, this is excellent news for everyone! It means that our patients can continue using their contact lenses as usual. There are several experts such as The Contact Lens Institute, The American Optometric Association as well as the British Contact Lens Association that back up the claim that contact lens wearers will not give you COVID -19 or make you at a higher risk for contracting COVID-19. All agree on another important point as well: Vigilant hand washing and good hygiene practice are a must whether you wear contact lenses or not.
