Contact Lens Fittings

Obtain a current contact lens prescription by booking an appointment today! Having a valid contact lens prescription is very important to maintain healthy and comfortable eyes.  Our optometrists will keep you up-to-date with the latest in contact lens technologies. During the contact lens fitting process, we will ensure that your lenses fit comfortably and securely on your eyes. Whether you are an experienced contact lens wearer or a new one, we will also provide instructions on proper lens care and hygiene to minimize the risk of eye infections. If needed we can also schedule you for some one on one contact lens training where we will show you how to insert the contact lens and how to take it out and make sure you are 100% comfortable to bring them home and try them on your own. You will also receive an official sign off by one of our optometrists upon demonstration of safe insertion and removal.

How young can a child be to start wearing contact lenses?

While there is no specific age that is appropriate to start wearing contacts, we generally start kids as young as 10 years old. Below this age children can still wear contacts if they are responsible enough, often they require help to put in the lenses but are able to take the lenses out themselves. We always recommend daily contact lenses for young patients since there is much less risk of infection or eye irritation.

Misight contact lenses are a great option for those that want to prevent their myopia from getting worse quickly.

Is there a lens I can wear overnight and not need glasses or contacts during the day?

Yes, it is called orthokeratology. These rigid lenses are meat to wear overnight to re-shape your cornea by flattening it, then in the morning you will have improved vision. We have added new technology in our office which allow us to do these kinds of specialty contact lens fittings. The other benefit to this lens is that it is another way we can help with myopia control. Book today to find out if you or your child would be a good candidate for ortho-k lenses.
